Stinkhorn

Stinkhorn fungi are said to have a foul smell, as of rotting meat, which attracts flies. There were plenty of flies on this one, growing in a friend's garden nearby. I didn't notice the smell. I think this is Yellow-netted Stinkhorn. Its scientific name is, very appropriately, Phallus multicolor.
