Saving the White-Clawed Crayfish

Whilst on a walk with A to Letheringsett Ford we came across some folk in the river Glaven.  They were from the Norfolk Rivers Trust and were collecting some of the native white-clawed crayfish which are a threatened species.  They are involved in a joint conservation venture with Banham Zoo where a breeding programme is being run and if successful the crayfish will be returned to the river to swell the population.

It's so heart-warming to come across marvellous work like this being undertaken.
