Life through the lens...

A French icon in Yorkshire!

Such an iconic car, and seen, and snapped, in the farm shop car park.

The Citroen 2Cv ( French "deux chevaux" = 2 horse power.)
Built 1948 - 1990.
For years this quirky little French car was the laughing stock of British roads.
Conceived before the war, to carry a farmer's eggs across a rough field.
Nearly 5 million " ugly ducks" were sold.

This quirky little French car left British showrooms in 1990 costing £4,552 on the road.

There is now a company in Low Moor, Bradford, called 2CV City, who pay around £300 for scrap cars, and then after rebuilding them, sell them for around £11,000.
Many of them are being sent back to France. SEE HERE

I wonder if this was one that was restored by that company.

(If I see the owner again, I will ask him)

What a lovely car, and in such beautiful condition.
