Old and new

We walked the city walls. (Sorry Mam that I laughed when your bunions hurt) Returning to the city centre we were amused by the stall, created by a shelter of umbrellas, selling all sorts of thing that are absolutely necessary to be the well dressed/prepared "Chesterian"/visitor. Behind and above the stall was the view of the Victorian clock and we wondered Queen Victoria might have thought about the present city. The beautiful buildings and the arcades of shops above ground level are a marvel to be admired. A pity one couldn't say the same for the multi-storey car parks! Nevertheless a lovely city.
