Life's a gas.....

Another busy one today again. Cattle fed then headed off to Dumfries for the Scotgrass event.
Took the back roads via Moffat . It was quite depressing along past Tweedsmuir to see nothing but trees and turbines, with a lot of new fencing ready to plant even more trees. In the past all this land would have been full of hill sheep, providing jobs and income to the local area. Now ,the trees are all planted , usually not local labour ,then no work until they are felled ,again one man and a machine contracted in,and hauled away ,again,by lorries that are not local. So instead of a viable local community thanks to farming, the place is dead.
Any way,just my humble opinion.
A lot of tractors, grass machinery, huge silage choppers on display. And not a Tory MP in sight !
Most of it out of my price range. Hate to think how many millions worth of kit was there today . Still ,was good to see and actually see folk after a 2 year covid absence.
This New Holland tractor runs on methane instead of diesel. Spoke to someone I know who was interested in it as he has a bio gas plant on his farm so could produce his own fuel as well as electricity for the grid. The future is blue ? Who knows.
