Pictorial blethers

Old haunts

Today has been hot - 28 or 28c - and we’ve walked/climbed/descended the best part of ten miles, which is considerably further than we’ve done in the past year. If you’re familiar with the north end of Lake Garda you’ll know that there’s a sharp wedge-shaped thing - looking a bit like Salisbury Crags - between Riva and Torbole. We went up that. There are the remains of several fortifications from various conflicts, and some great views. There’s also a hellish descent…

The memories returned as we walked through Riva at the end of our hike, and passed the much- changed (for the worse) hotel where I stayed on that holiday sixty years ago. But suddenly, as we headed for a café and cold beers I was walking through à remembered place, so that’s where this blip comes from.

I may add some spectacular beetles later …
