what is it? Is it a hoverfly?

Made another photographic record of all the flowers coming up in our wilding areas - photographed 31 species today  whereas it was only 22 on May 10th.  The buttercups are glorious and the fairy rings are still showing lots of fungi.  The whole idea is to make our estate more insect, butterfly, bee friendly so I must try to record some of those too.
