Cornish Gatehouse

The gatehouse at Lanhydrock House, near Bodmin in Cornwall is dated 1651. We were there early this morning on our way home. It's good to be able to enjoy historic places like this when they are quiet. Since uploading this image I have been struck by how strange the roof pinnacles are. I almost imagine them now as saintly figures between heaven and earth!
