Which way?

We had to go into Penrith this afternoon, something we usually avoid - on a Friday in the holiday season the A66 is full of traffic both ways. Fortunately we know the backroads and can avoid it. 

Then we come across other hazards . . . ! These youngsters had no idea where they were going, and we are not sure whether the guy in charge of them knew either. At one point they decided they ought to be going in the other direction (see extra) - wrong! 

At least it was more entertaining than sitting in a traffic jam.
