A Day of Contrasts

Arrived safe and sound in beautiful Scotland and my dear friend Martin picked me up at the airport.  After a jolt of caffeine, we were off.  We first visited the Burrell Collection which just reopened after an extensive renovation.  It was amazing but we only got to see a small part.  One of my favorite pieces was this Medieval wood carving of 5 nuns.  They had such personalities!  There is a resident flock of Rooks that greet visitors. Just look at this handsome fellow!  Then it was off to the Sharmanka Kinetic Theater.  (Extra) Sculptures made from found objects which come to life in a light show and music, these magical creations are the work of a self taught artist originally from St. Petersburg but who moved to Scotland 30 years ago. Shamanka Kinetic Theatre
