A seaside walk

We had a lovely evening with Carole and David but managed to get up and out by 9.30 to head for Warkworth. It took longer than usual because the road over the moor was closed so we had to use the valley road.

We walked along the dune path towards Alnmouth. It was cool and breezy. There was a profusion of wild flowers and song birds. Our visitors enjoyed the old chapel on castle hill and the view over to Alnmouth. We walked back along the beach to find a bit sheltered from the south-westerly wind for our picnic.

We got back at 2.30 so I had to start sorting out dinner. The visitors went for a little snooze and Mr C planted out his courgettes.

Linda and Colin are coming tonight. I’ve made a melon sliver starter - melon, sunflower seeds, white wine, bashed almonds, lime, chilli and coriander. I made Welsh Rarebit muffins which we can have with the light cool starter. The main is Broccoli and feta cake, a tomato, radish, spring onion, walnut salad with pomegranate molasses dressing, and some toast potatoes. Pudding will be a chocolate Bundt cake with salted caramel poured over it and chocolate curls. I hope it doesn’t fall to bits when I put on the serving plate as by then we’ll have had our cocktail and wine.

Thank you for your kind, supportive and informative remarks about James. Now daughter is worried he might NOT have dyslexia and it is something else! She’s not sure when he gets tested so it could be ages before we hear anything.
