Day 8.

Lochmaddy - Kilmelford.
4,834 steps, 2 hours on the ferry, and 3 and a half hours in the van.

It's good to be home. One excited dog. A long soak in the bath. No blisters. One wee blackened toenail.

Very relieved that Calmac squeezed us on to the replacement ferry this morning after our 5.00am start. They wanted to send us back to Barra to catch a boat!

Sampling a lovely pink grapefruit Downpour gin from Uist now.

Thank you everyone for all your lovely supportive comments throughout my week away.  It certainly wasn't a holiday for photography. Most of the time it was either too wet or too windy to hold a camera up. But the phone snaps will do to remind us of our journey   and Captainbob did a great job of capturing us at the end of each day's walking.  We managed 82 miles in 6 days. Quite pleased with that, and we could have gone on. :)
