The boiler, Coldharbour Mill

Staying with friends in Devon for a couple of days.  Today we visited Coldharbour Mill at Uffculme, an old woollen mill now a museum, once part of Fox Bros & Co of Wellington, Somerset.  They ran a cloth manufacturing business and so the mill is full of machinery dating from the industrial revolution.  On certain days they stoke up the boilers for all to see (and hear!).  Cloth is also produced in small quantities by various weavers who man some of the machines but today it was quiet.  Tea and cake afterwards in the cafe.  The photograph shows one of two boilers. There is also a water wheel and a weir.  The boiler door reminds me of the carved West African masks with the large round eyes!

Extra photograph is of Coldharbour Mill.
