Wound up in Wexford

Echium

The echium we planted a few years ago - more in hope than expectation - have done us proud for the initial investment of just £1.  We've had flowers for the last three years, and this year we have half a dozen towering spikes, and several smaller plants that will presumably bear next year's flowers.

Today I finished the weeding of the back passage, and also did some tidying of the pond bed.  W also did some weeding around the raised beds and the back of the studio.

We had to retire indoors during the middle of the day, as it was very hot.  It's cooled down now, and W is back outside.  We will be driving up north in a few days to make a delivery of plants and alcohol to my sister in Edinburgh - so one of the jobs for today is to move the pots we are taking to the patio, and give them a good water, so they won't be dripping when we put them in the car on Wednesday.
