What struck my fancy

West Light

at the mouth of the River Nene at Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire UK. East Light which is very similar is on my side. Both were built in the 1830s after the area was drained and the river was navigable, as aids to navigation.

The area is a nature reserve and East Light was once occupied by the naturalist Sir Peter Scott. Both these former lighthouses are now occupied as private houses.
