Life through the lens...

By ValC

By the riverside.

Morning coffee at Naburn Locks, followed by one of our favourite walks along the River Ouse.
Always love it here especially in Maytime when the horse chestnut trees are in blossom, and the wild flowers are looking their best.
I think the pink and cream ones are Sweet Rocket, but not sure. Look lovely amongst the cow parsley.
We were hoping to hear a cuckoo, but no such luck although there were plenty of other birds singing away.
A surprise was two young Roe deer who popped their heads up in the long grass.
Also a lot if damselflies. Think they are Banded Demoiselles.
Lots of orange tip butterflies, but none would stay still long enough for a photograph.
A picnic lunch sat by the river, and then called at two nurseries on the way home, and came back with a boot full of plants!
Should keep me busy for the rest of the evening.
The weather was warm and we had more sun than expected.
A very enjoyable day.
