‘A Tiny Sliver of Card’

SD Cards have been around since around 1999 and over the last 21 years the capacity has increased enormously.

This is the micro version (Micro SD), which was introduced in 2005. It is the size of a thumbnail (just 11 mm x 15 mm - just under and just over half an inch).

Due to its small size, this card format is particularly suitable for small tech devices, such as smartphones or tablets, as a memory extension.

This minute sliver can hold thousands - even hundreds of thousands - of photos inside its tiny frame, as well as hours and hours of video.

Quite miraculous, really!
