The Tosson Road

It rained most of this morning and looked like it was settling in for the day. D suggested he drive me around Cragside for a change but we couldn’t take the turn we needed because of roadworks causing temporary road closure. So we turned in the opposite direction and took the Tosson Road which took us in a huge loop away from Rothbury and down some unexplored (by us) lanes.
A young hare leaped in front of our car but hopped away exiting stage left. I managed a very blurred photo through our wet windscreen but I can still identify him.
We extended our drive back via Pauperhaugh (pronounced Peppahoff) Bridge and arrived home to big blue sky with fluffy white clouds.
