Ross Back Sands

Another new beach for us today and our last day in Northumberland.......for now. This beach lies between Bamburgh Castle to the south, and Lindisfarne Castle to the north.

Again it was very quiet. We had planned to walk to the far north of the beach - Guile Point, but there was a warden holding the fort to prevent anyone reaching that spot. Apparently there were nesting birds so it's out of bounds from April to September. We could also see a large colony of seals too, so we wouldn't have wanted to disturb those either.

The extra is a shot of our view from the cottage over to The Farne Isles. After a brief rain shower this evening, we were treated to a spectacular rainbow and sunset. A fantastic end to the week.

We took a walk down the lane from the cottage just to get a last glance of the hares that we've shared the fields with all week. We weren't disappointed, and we saw some deer just running off into the woods too.
