Market day

and not quite as busy today, a dull wet morning could be the reason. John bought a bunch of leek plants for home, we think his plants have failed and hope these will adjust to the west coast, fingers crossed we don’t loose them when checked at the border. Nothing ventured.

On the way back up to the car we called into the copper workshop (mentioned in last weeks bf), a place of character and leaks, not quite the same as those bought a few minutes earlier. It was interesting to see a large copper pan with the interior relined and some smaller kitchen ware that looked pretty although not sure of their purpose, also a copper whisk priced at 46€, perhaps the damp weather lessened our enthusiasm.

John, the neighbour called in today to see how my John was feeling and brought some heat gel for the muscle issue, he told us more of his life as a pop star and musician. I don’t think we are gullible when I say we believe his stories although having met any number of notables he has a regret in not meeting Lonnie Donegan, his hero as a young lad. He has had various careers linked to music and is still asked to compère at certain shows in places like Monte Carlo.

A lovely afternoon and evening, we did some work in the garden for an hour enjoying the sunshine and breeze.
