Fairfield and Grisedale Tarn from St Sunday Crag

Please view large on black, pano's look nothing otherwise.

Mountain weather forecast for Fairfield promised a dry morning (but a wet afternoon). We drove down to Patterdale and walked up the valley to Grisedale tarn, then up the lower slopes of Fairfield and onto St Sunday Crag. The forecast was spectacularly wrong - it poured all the way up the valley (about as wet as Scotland a couple of weeks back!) but then thankfully cleared up.

Normally we would have gone onto Fairfield before dropping off towards St Sunday Crag, but the descent off the top is rocky and slippery in the wet, so we by-passed it! This is a three shot panorama of Fairfield on the left, and a fairly sombre looking Grisedale tarn.

St Sunday Crag: 206/214 - 8 to go!
