Shugborough

It didn’t matter that we got wet.
Shugborough was looking lush, very green and oh so beautiful.

I met a long term friend for a lovely catch up with lunch, and we walked into the grounds from the Essex Bridge entrance.

We wandered through the unmown meadows full of wildflowers (carefully tended of course - these sights don’t just happen naturally). We admired the  stunning individual peonies and alliums. We watched the wildlife.

We walked along the Arboretum entering via the Blue Bridge and left by the Red Bridge and the Chinese House. It’s strange how reversing the normal route can seem so different.

A nourishing pub lunch and a chance to dry out. And those familiar words - we must not leave it so long next time…….
