Blackcap Rising

Although the Blackcap has a really beautiful song, it often comes at you from the heart of the undergrowth, and the bird itself can be hard to find.  

I spotted this one on the lower branches of a tree near Westbury Beacon on the Mendips.  Although some intervening foliage has caused a bit of blur around the birds legs, as it launches itself upwards into flight, I didn't think that it really detracted too much from the image.

In other news Sue Gray's Report shows the Prime Minister to have been a law breaker and liar, and the Met have obviously failed to undertake their Partygate investigation in any sort of competent fashion.  Boris Pants_on_fire Johnson is in turn now seeking to pass the buck and pin the blame for the Downing Street party culture on the junior members of staff involved ... 

So quelle surprise nothing much new there.  :-o
