With our friends, we had a morning stroll and coffee stop round York (please see extra for York Minster, the largest gothic cathedral in Northern Europe.)
Post lunch we passed by a memorial to the battle of Marston Moor, which saw around four thousand Royalist soldiers die fighting Cromwell's men, in the English civil war (July 1644.)
The main is a distant tree, opposite the battlefield, which hopefully fits this week's wide wednesday theme.
Many thanks to BobsBlips for hosting.
