Morning Silhouettes

As it was such a lovely morning I decided to spend some time over at Coronation Park in Port Glasgow.

This view looking into the early morning sun caught my eye. I liked the light on the water and the silhouette of Ferguson Shipyard and the trees in the background. While I was taking various shots, I noticed a swan moving into the picture, which nicely broke up the reflections of the sun in the water.

Ferguson Shipbuilders was founded in 1903 and for over 100 years, the family run concern has been building ships on the Clyde. Admittedly not the same family, and there have been periods where it has been part of other companies, but now, under the stewardship of a Clyde family, the Dunnets, Ferguson Shipbuilders has endured some of the worst periods of the Clyde's history.

Now the last independent commercial shipbuilder on the Clyde. This shipyard builds ferries and fisheries vessels up to 100 m in length.
