Next stop - Hogwarts :-)

Had a 'train day' on the West Somerset Railway, which is England's longest heritage railway and runs from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard.

We got day rover tickets and caught the first one of the day from Watchet. Unfortunately, there was a slight problem on the track so we had to wait about a bit at Williton until it had been properly safety checked and then had another little wait at Bishops Lydeard. We were going to have a look around at BL but because of the delay it would have meant a long time to wait for the next train so we just went straight back and travelled all the way to Minehead.

Went for a bite to eat and a cracking cup of tea on the seafront, had a look around the little museum and did some beachcombing before heading back to the station for the last train back to Watchet.

A couple in our carriage must have made a split decision to get on the train and didn't have tickets, and because it was the last train of the day they found out they would only be able to get as far as Watchet (a 25 minute journey) before they'd need to get the last train back (20 minutes later) travelling the other way. It cost them £46! I bet that was a split decision they regretted!

Had a lovely chippy tea when we got back to Watchet :-)

Added a few extras of the pretty end of Minehead, the railway carriage and the last train of the day preparing to depart.
