Nessie

August 1933 must have been a slow month for news- no international financial crisis, the Prime Minister off to Lossiemouth, the King to Balmoral and Churchill off to beg accommodation from a rich friend on the continent.

With no real news the story of the Loch Ness Monster spread quickly and has been going strong ever since. There is even a visitor centre dedicated to something that does not exist. No matter it brings in the visitors.

This was taken at Castle Urquhart which does have a genuine and highly interesting history. The best way to see the loch if not the mondtrr is to drive down the north side to Fort Augustus and to return to Inverness along the south side.
