Many hands

On my walk to town this afternoon I realised how busy the local knitters and crocheters have been - there are lots of jubilee-related creations attached to benches, lamp posts, the railing of the war memorial, but not our statue of Oliver Cromwell. The mind boggles at what he would think of it all!

This welcoming bit of yarn-art was ignored by everyone else as I passed it a couple of times. Do you think it challenges the *alleged* British aversion to such public shows of affection? A public free hug is quite a challenge it seems.
The man in the pink teeshirt in the background - is he the mayor or just a medallion fan?

Anyway good work by the crafters, it’s very cheerful to see all those bright colours and to think of how much effort and skill went into the end result.

Extras: I think these are crowns, they’re attached to every lamp post along one street.
