Friday: Baby Robin

We woke up this morning around 5:30 - sun streaming through the curtains, impossible to go back to sleep ...
Had a leisurely breakfast and coffee then a stroll around the veggie garden by the greenhouse.
I've started clearing away the large pots on the long deep bed, some empty pots and some still have plants, moved to current "storage area"!
The deep bed is surprisingly weed free, but Aquilegia, thistles, nettles and assorted "soft weeds" needed pulling out - added to the compost bins, nothing wasted!
Whilst to-ing & fro-ing caught a sudden movement and stopped to investigate ... a pair of little dark eyes staring at me, a BABY ROBIN who will no doubt be my new "Gardening Assistant"!
Saw one of my young neighbours from across the way, asked how her GCSEs were going, told her about the Robin and ended up going in search of him/her - eventually found singing quietly to itself in the blackcurrant bushes :-) We also saw assorted bees, a couple of butterflies and swapped stories about the local noisy owls and sightings of the bat.
MrD had a busy day of deliveries.
Ate my dinner outdoors this evening and saw 2 Swifts, first time this year.
Weekend here again, hope yours is relaxing and enjoyable xxxx xxx xx
Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
