We enjoyed watching working dogs. The dogs focus 100% on the sheep and are very keen.
There was a shearing competition. We saw a heat with six shearers each shearing ten sheep. They are a pleasure to watch. There are no false moves. There is a particular way to shear a sheep and the shearer’s hands protect the eyes and ears and delicate parts of the sheep. They know exactly how to handle them so there is no struggling.
We saw some impressive cattle, including the big Angus bull in the extra.
People watching was interesting too.
