Black Tailed Skimmer Dragonfly

…. this is the male, the brown females which were flying too, were not settling and I couldn’t catch them on the wing. I seem to be going near water a lot at the moment. Swimming early this morning in a balmy 22 degrees (only the swans were there with their cygnets); then lunch to celebrate David’s birthday with no. 2 son in the beautiful port of Estavayer. On the way back I took a detour to see if the grebe chicks have hatched (they haven’t, Mum is still a lady in waiting).

Two neighbour emergencies have meant no commenting yesterday and tonight I am too tired so am taking off my comments till my energy is back. Apologies, just one extra thing seems too much at the moment …. Must be getting old!
