Family Rose

Another flower with a history. This is a cutting from a rambler rose in my mother's garden, where it has grown for about 40 years, and reached a huge size. So I consider myself warned. 
I am letting it grow into a small Amelanchier tree, and will make sure it goes up, but not sideways - or it might try to take over most of our small garden. 

I had hoped to do quite a lot of gardening today. But in one of the gardens bordering on ours, builders turned up to convert some lawn into stone pavement. They worked pretty much all day, and made a lot of noise. So my plans had to be postponed.
