Apologies for being away from Blip for so long. I've been in rather ill health for a prolonged period.

MrsDroog and I have been in residence at this hotel in Otley for the past four days because our boiler committed suicide and we had no hot water. We have always liked the Black Horse Hotel, especially after it was taken over by Kirkstall Brewery. What has made it so successful is, it might be argued, monetary and material investment in the building; however, I firmly believe that the key to the success of the enterprise is its manager.

Jen is a remarkable, efficient, supportive and charming leader with a can-do attitude under any circumstances. She provided us with accommodation and held it open according to our circumstances. She is a credit to her employers, an exemplary manager (one only has to see her team to see it), and, I like to think, a good friend.

Should any Blippers visit Otley for whatever reason, this is the hotel of choice.
