Spoor of the Bookworm

Diced knitting

A quiet day of back pain and knitting. Odd bedfellows perhaps but when your legs are throbbing with white heat and each breath sends sharp blades stabbing through from sternum to vertebrae the quiet action of two needles and a strand of yarn can be a hypnotising salvation. Stitch by stitch, knit or purl, up one row and down the next keeping the count, concentrate on the numbers and needles, push the gnawing pain away. So the day passes and the next dose of morphine falls due. When living day to day gets too ambitious live stitch to stitch.
