Just around the corner

Went out for a midday jog, and just around the corner which has signs recommending a maximum speed of 25 km per hour (see yesterday's blip) was this. One of the 25km signs for traffic coming down the hill had been knocked out of the ground by a vehicle the driver of which presumably lost control. The sign was hit with sufficient force to break the pole and lift the concrete 'base' out of the ground. The vehicle  appears to have just gone over the concrete block with no evidence of braking, and back onto the road. Behind the fence is the children's playground, and on the right is the footpath I was jogging on. Tyre marks in the grass show the return to the road.

I hope that this happened at night when no children were in the playground or walking to or from it. Better would be to have not been driving so fast.
