Shop in Town Being Repurposed

Have you noticed how recently 'shops' are no longer 'shops', they're now called 'stores' and you can often 'shop' online or 'in store'? 

(Another example is 'train station'. I know we use the phrase a 'bus station', which kind of parallels this, but when I was a youngster I took the train from our local 'railway station' to go to school)
