What is it that makes each day what it is? Planned celebrations? meetings? A chance encounter? A gift given or received? A phone call? A text?

On this day in 1660 Charles II was restored to the throne of England, Scotland and Ireland.
In 1953 – Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay became the first people to reach the summit of Mount Everest, on Tenzing Norgay's 39th birthday. Quite a day.

Today is also Restoration Day, more commonly known as Oak Apple Day or Royal Oak Day, commemorating  the restoration of the Stuart monarchy. It’s also known as Shick Shack Day, or Oak and Nettle Day.
But for us, today was a morning at church followed by an afternoon planting chard, courgettes, squash & marrow. So nothing momentous, but something good.
