Howden Reservoir, Derwent Valley

A superb walk by Ladybower Reservoir and the Upper Derwent Reservoir, climbing to get this view of the top reservoir in the valley. I returned via the Derwent Edges, the highest point being Back Tor at 538m. Lovely weather although it was partly cloudy at times and the views were a bit hazy. Heard skylark, raven, red grouse, curlew, lapwing, geese. Saw plenty of walkers, some cyclists, a few fishermen and lots of runners on a race. Also saw lambs and a sheep on top of a wall.

The map shows the viewpoint location, looking NNW.
