From Baptism To Blessing And What Lies Between....

I know that technology is a wonderful and sometimes necessary tool to reach out to those who cannot join us in person for whatever reason, but I am sorry that those watching the Live-stream did not get to hear Deani's stirring and powerful piano rendition of "Battle Hymn of the Republic".  I couldn't even get decent pictures of it because her fingers were flying across those keys!  That said, it set a great tone for the service.  We were privileged to witness two people experiencing believer's baptism after which we lifted our voices in congregational praise and worship .  Then the choir, orchestra and various accompanists blessed us with the joyful anthem, "Hallelujah, He's Alive!".  Because of the tragic events in Uvalde this week and in Ukraine recently, Pastor Wes postponed his last sermon from the book of Jonah and spoke to us from John 11:1-46 where John tells us about the death of Jesus's dear friend Lazarus and how Jesus raised him from the dead, because Jesus isn't just a person who talks about resurrection and eternal life----He is the Resurrection and the Life!  Trusting in God does not mean that bad things won't happen. but God feels our sorrow and grief and we can find comfort in knowing that we are not alone in the dark times.  Pastor Wes has his own very powerful testimonies to share in that area, which you can hear on the Live-stream.  You will be inspired!  At the end of the service, we prayed over Melissa for God's protection and guidance as she goes to check out a ministry opportunity in an undisclosed location.......
