Great Northern Diver

Even if you are unfamiliar with this bird you would probably recognise its call from lots of films set in the Canadian or US wilderness of forests and lakes...Google it and see. I heard one and saw three  yesterday on Papay. Today I was down at the beach along barrier 4 between Burray and South Ronaldsay. It was swimming just offshore and caught three flatfish in a short period of time, though lots of dives went unrewarded. Another shot in extra. Also there- little terns, ringed plovers, oystercatchers, reed bunting, linnet etc.
