Spotted fungi on a log …

….. ….. at Lake Hayes.
The colour was vivid against the colour of the felled log. It’s not a fungi I’ve seen before and if you know it’s name I’d love to know it.
A beautiful calm and warm day at the lake - there’s another image in Extras.

PS - Many thanks to twigs for identifying this striking fungi. I’ve seen several specimens online now - Pholiota aurivella / Golden Scalycap. Pholiota aurivella is a species of fungus in the family Strophariaceae that is found in native forest of New Zealand, southern Canada, and in the United States.
