In Proud and Loving Memory of My Dear and Only Son

At St Johns church in Sutton Veny. There are 170 headstones to mostly Australian soldiers from WW1. Albert Anderson , son of James and Elizabeth, 90 Jenkin St, Freemantle, went to the recruiting office to sign up . He was turned away because he was only 16 years old. So he borrowed a mates birth cert , James Hegarty , aged 18. Albert died of sickness on 22/2/17, aged 16. Some soldiers in the 48th Reg Infantry knew who he really was and set the record straight.
