Polperro & Looe

An early train from St Austell via Liskeard to Looe.  The Liskeard to Looe line was saved by Barbara Castle MP after it had been added to Beeching's list for the chop.

We walked to Polperro on the South West Coastal Path.  The almost six miles of frequent up hills and strangely absent downhills was quite the challenge!  But oh, Polperro is worth it - a very attractive picture postcard seaside port.

We had the oddest experience in Polperro when we bumped into a couple we met two years ago in Mexico - the last overseas trip we did just before Covid lockdown.  It was lovely to see Karen and Raymond who, like us, were having a UK trip exploring Cornwall and Devon.

Before the walk, we thought we might do the return leg.  Fortunately there was a bus alternative back to Looe!   We explored Looe which is also an attractive harbour town.  When we chanced upon a Mexican restaurant we really had to go there for dinner - good choice!
