Art in Hjalteyri

On our way to Hauganes today, we decided to take a short detour to Hjalteyri and see the works of this years graduation-class of the art-course in Verkmenntaskólinn. There were many interesting and beautiful pieces of art and design, but this is what Dagur and Kári were most interested in: The design and idea for a computer game, based on stories and characters from the Norse mythology.

We stayed with my parents in their house in Hauganes and had a lovely afternoon (and night) with lots of talking, great food, napping and a good soak in the hot tub. The children in the village were playing outside after dinner and the evening sun was magical.
I was very happy when we drove home just before midnight and I was asleep before my head hit the pillow :)
