Wanderings & Witterings

Our Ramblers walk today was a relatively local one for me at Callendar Park and Wood in Falkirk. Despite that, it's been quite a while since I was over there - probably taking its proximity for granted. Nevertheless, we had a good walk around the longer, and slightly more strenuous (although that is a relative term) waymarked route, before doubling back and following another path to allow us to visit the mausoleum (extra).

Fair to say, the mausoleum has seen better days and the enclosure in which it is situated is a mess of broken glass, bottles and containers of  other various substances. Nevertheless, it would have been an impressive sight in its day and one can easily enjoy the other sights and sounds of the wood and park without venturing near it.

(In other news, I have just spent a couple of hours catching up with everyone's journals. An afternoon well spent in my opinion.)
