The Rock Faces of Vico Nel Lazio

It was already getting warm when we left Trevi nel Lazio at 7:30 am for the 20 mile ride, with two big climbs up & around mountains before we reached Collepardo. The second climb brought us to the town of Vico Nel Lazio. It was about 12:30 pm and according to the guy that sold us an ice-pop, 40 degrees Celsius (that’s 104 deg. F). After refilling our empty water bottles at the town fountain, we migrate to the first shade we find - on a bench under the shade of a tree. While munching our cheese, bread and cherries we notice faces looking back at us from the rock wall across the street. New art in a very old wall.
