Bahari

My flip flops broke yesterday, so I had to replace them. I also needed lip balm. When I found somewhere to find it that wasn’t extortionate, the cashier told me that her fellow cashier had just told her in Swahili that she ‘liked’ me. Without a wedding ring it can be awkward to dodge such interactions, so I basically ran out of the shop.

My next destination was Bahari, to a beach on the north edge of the city. I said ‘how’s life?’ to the taxi driver Nelson, and he replied, ‘life is very bad.’ Nelson was having a tough day.

At Bahari I chilled and relaxed there for a few hours but the neck stiffness was making me uncomfortable. I ended up spending more time rubbing in Deep Heat than reading my book.
