Swirling clouds above Blencathra

Originally we'd planned to do a fabulous walk today to finish the last 4 Wainwrights, but the forecast was for heavy rain all morning. As the Lakes are rammed with tourists over the Jubilee weekend, a late start to the walk would be impossible as parking would be a no-go. So we've postponed it until next week.

Imagine how "miffed" we felt when we woke (late) to blue skies and light winds. Still - we knew we couldn't start out then, so settled for an afternoon walk up Walla Crag from the house. Halkfway up we turned to look over Blencathra and saw these amazing swirling clouds approaching. Whilst it made a good photo, the deluge that followed was less pleasant - so the rain did come, but about 5 hours later than forecast.
