Swing Bridge

Across the river Nene at Sutton Bridge. I was hoping for a vessel to come through, but no show.

The RMS Laar, a cargo vessel was scheduled to pass here on its way to Port Wisbech. The river is tidal and only passable around high water, at about 22:20hrs. The vessel location service AIS showed it to be in The Wash at anchor, then later on its way at 3.2 knots so my hope rose but at that speed it would take a few hours by which time the water level would be much lower and a vessel that size would not be able to complete its journey. 

So I don't know what else I could have done. Never mind, there will be other opportunities. Leastways the bridge looks nice, lit up like that.
