Nature Diary... Early this Morning

At first sight this morning our garden was looking very refreshed after heavy rain last night.The rain had received a splendid encore of tremendous, deafening, bouts of thunder,  which had been followed by thrilling lightning flashes which lasted for several minutes. 

But in the early morning today all was calm as I stood perfectly still, delightedly admiring the sight of our familiar little Lady Blackbird enjoying a breakfast feast of worms which she was digging out of the soaked grass.

In the center of the collage she is first pictured standing on the edge of our little pond in which she regularly bathes, then she is actually in the pond, and in the last of those three photos it's easy to see how wet her little head is as she'd dunked it underwater. Bless!

A lovely start to the final day of a wonderful, historical weekend.
